Rio Dos Elefantes River Cottages Hoedspruit

Situated on the Olifants River in the Balule Nature Reserve and forms part of the Greater Kruger, Rio dos Elefantes is surrounded by lawns and trees. It riverside location makes it an ideal location for spotting hippo and crocodile while other game such as antelope and elephant are often seen. Birdlife is prolific.

Rio dos Elefantes River Camp is magnificently proportioned on the Olifants and the Blyderivier. The camp is situated on the northern bank of the Olifantsriver in the Balule Nature Reserve and bordering the Kruger National Park. The Camp on a rise above the river lies surrounded by sprawling lawns and dwarfed by huge indigenous trees.

The river which shelters a great many aquatic creatures such as hippo and crocodiles is also a haven for the many antelope species, elephant and the inevitable carnivores found in these parts. For Bird lovers, the abundance of water and giant trees, harbours a wide variety of birds. from the magnificent Fish Eagle to the smallest marsh dweller.
